For you SASS or NCOWS Cowboy Action Shooters or Old West Reenactors, here’s a great accessory destined to brighten up your image. Especially if your cowboy persona emulates a character out of the Old Southwest. These authentic Mexican ponchos add a bit of western lore akin to the characters brought to the screen by the likes of Clint Eastwood and Charles Bronson.

Colorful pattern, woven with a classic Southwest “stallions” design with Mexican border patterns on the shoulders and horseheads and horseshoes around the bottom will brighten the day and definitely catch everyone's eye at your next Cowboy shoot!!. Not really recommended for summer use in most of the southern USA, this is a heavier weight material than our Saltillo rainbow striped poncho, and surprisingly comfortable against those chilling fall and winter winds. We’ve worn them in freezing temperatures on winter SASS match days and stayed comfortably warm and in character throughout the shooting day. A trick we’ve used to stay comfy when it’s cold and windy is to tie an old braided leather rein around our middle like a belt. Keeps in the warmth and stays in character. These ponchos are soft and flexible enough to allow full access and movement while shooting; yet sturdy enough to offer good protection if the weather takes a bad turn. Remember, these were the original Mexican rain and storm coats. You will expect nothing less of these modern day replicas.

Our color selection varies, to some degree, with each shipment we receive. Colors currently available include: Tan/White (reverses to White/Tan), Green/White (reverses to White/Green), Grey/White (reverses to White/Grey) and Burgundy/White (reverses to White/Burgundy). Colors are reversible by turning poncho inside-out. Finish is the same on both sides, but color pattern reverses. Heavier weight woven fabric with bound edges, fringed bottom, and V-neck. One size fits most adults - Overall size 74"L x 36"W. Woven Cotton/Acrylic blend. Mexican Made. These are great for all kinds of Cowboy or western activities.
